Something I have Considered

So he said things that are unflattering and he may have exaggerated some things (a little) but aren't his assertions accurate for the most part? Shouldn't we then seek to change those things so that next time someone paints us in unflattering light we could refute with solid evidence?

...Negative criticism could also be constructive. Denial and outrage do not alter reality...

The Bird and a Cat! (Very Good Object Lesson)

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold, the bird froze and fell to the ground in a large field. While it was lying there a cow dropped some dung on it. As the frozen bird was lying there in a pile of cow dung, it began to realize how warm it was. The dung was actually thawing him out. He laid there all warm and happy and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under a pile of cow dung and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Moral of the story:
1. Not everyone who drops shit on you is your enemy.
2. Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.
3. And when you're in deep shit, keep your mouth shut!

A Day at Liberty Mountain Resort... What is it like???

For all those who know me well, know that I am not a fan of snow, buuuut, I made an effort and went Snow Tubing at the Liberty Mountain Resort in Pennsylvania.

 Liberty Mountain Resort Snow Tubing

So if you are wondering why I chose Snow Tubing as a fun activity even though I don't like snow; my sister and her family invited my son and I along on their trip and I said, "why not?" It is good to try good things as least once and of course you will have not only the memory, but also the experience to share as how I am sharing it with you right now on The Vlogging Truth. As for the cost of the tickets, my brother-in-law got some sort of Navy discount as he is in the Navy and pre-paid $30 for each ticket per person. Apparently, the facility doesn't only accommodate activities such as Snow Tubing, but also, Snow Boarding, Skiing, Rock Climbing and many other snow and adventure sports. My sister and her family did snow boarding the last time they went, BUUUT, their son was the only one who actually Snow Boarded as they sat and watched him the entire time as to avoid participating and having to take on the risk of breaking anything. Haha. As a result, they decided that on this trip, Snow Tubing would have been pretty basic and far less complex where EVERYONE could participate and enjoy.

Liberty Mountain Resort Snow Tubing

 Liberty Mountain Resort Snow Tubing

First of all, Snow Tubing is more basic than what you may think it is, but before I get to that let me start talking about the experience from the very beginning.

We got there at around noon and on that Saturday, it wasn't snowing in that area at the time. I honestly expected the place to look like Aspen. Snoooow everywhere, but the only place I saw snow was waaaaay up on a hill. I was like, where is the snow? lol. We had even contemplated visiting another location that sold the idea of looking like Aspen well, but we ended up staying as apparently all you need for Snow Tubing is a hill with some snow and now you are probably wondering where did the snow come from if it wasn't snowing or didnt't snow! There are these machines on the sides and top and bottom of the hill that makes snow and then spits it out on the hill. According to my dad, "that type of snow isn't organic." Haha.

 Liberty Mountain Resort Snow Tubing

There is a generous amount of parking as soon as you enter the facility. I even saw a charging outlet for those rechargeable cars and I saw a car being charged on it too. The parking areas were very slushy and muddy also, but that didn't phase persons, because it is not like the activities were dry activities and persons came in snow shoes which by far are one of the best types of shoes of that type of environment.

We took a shuttle up to the Snow Tubing section where we had to sign some forms basically giving rights away in case of an accident during activities on the compound. The feeling of the place is very movie like. Although there wasn't a great quantity of snow, it really did feel like I was in Aspen with my rich family vacationing. Hehe. We grabbed our tubes at the beginning of the line to head on over to the lift that takes you to the very top of the hill. Now don't let that lift fool you, because if you don't stand on it with one foot forward and the other foot to the back and then turn sideways, you will, loose your balance.

 Liberty Mountain Resort Snow Tubing

After we got to the top, everyone formed lines to then wait their turn to be either pushed, or spun down the hill. You can even race with friends, by jumping into your tube headway and then using your entire body weight to slide down the hill pretty fast. Only one person per a lane is allowed every time though. There are at least eight lanes across the hill. I guess it is extremely dangerous for individuals to go one after the other. I will warn you about that spin down the hill. You don't wanna try it on your first go as I did. My hat came off my head and my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus almost flew right out my hand.

In total, going up the hill using the lift, waiting your turn to go down the hill on the tube and getting to the bottom of the hill takes an average of half an hour. We thought that we would have been there getting tired of the hill, but with the amount of time it takes before you can actually get your turn, you will wonder where all the time went. Sooooo, we noticed that persons stopped using the lift to get back up to the top of the hill and actually used the other side of the hill to walk up. Many of the kids ran up until they grew weary, but that way was much faster than using the lift. In total, I only had 3 turns and then my hands started to get numb from the snow and oh, it did started snowing eventually.

Overall the facility is clean and from the looks of the fast food, that seemed great also. We didn't purchase any food, but the setup looked like a great fast food joint that served fried chicken wings, sodas, etc.

We didn't have much interaction with staff, only until they spun those who wanted to be spun down the hill or pushed. The facility sells all gears needed for activities, but they seemed pricey. All in all, the day was good and although I am not fan of snow, I did have a whale of a time.

Trying Organic Pads for the First Time!!!

rael disposable padsrael disposable padsrael disposable pads

I am trying organic sanitary napkins (pads) for the very first time. A few months ago I watched this video of a man explaining how dangerous and unhealthy it is for us women to use conventional pads. He did live tests that showed pads are made from all recyclable and bleached products, including plastic. When we sweat whilst wearing a pad can cause many things to go wrong, including getting chronic yeast infections as bacteria is being built up in that area when you sweat and your sweat is mixed with all those chemicals due to the manufacturing process. He was actually promoting an organic brand of pad that was being retailed at around $35 for only ten (10) and that was really unaffordable, but recently I saw YouTuber, 'The Chic Natural' make a video about all the natural feminine hygiene products that she uses and this brand, Rael was featured in her video for only $12.99 for two packs of 14 in each pack. That is a total of 28 pads for that price. I had to jump on it immediately. Here is the link to the Rael Organic Pads if you are so interested in purchasing http://amzn.to/2Fj48IR

They are also disposable, for those who are interested in knowing... :)

What I Eat in a Day PLANTBASED List and Recipes

I so hope you enjoy these recipes that I had a feast with. Share with a friend and don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel by clicking here... Denny Girl Jo

BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE- Banana Papaya Avocado Smoothie
 Banana Papaya Avocado Smoothie

I have been putting avocado in my smoothies and it just isn't the same without an avocado. It makes the texture of the smoothies much smoother and richer.

You'll need:

1/2 cup diced Papaya
1 banana

1 inch sliced piece of ginger

1/6 of a large avocado

1/4 Sambazo frozen Acai puree
1/2 medium size lemon
1 blender (I used a Magic Bullet Blender http://amzn.to/2GRiAUH)

Instructions:

  1. Ensure you wash all ingredients before peeling.
  2. Add all the ingredients your blender and blend.
Tip:

Some blenders won't blend your smoothie into a completely smooth texture unless you blend it for a long period. I find that some blenders get burnt out and their motors stop working if you leave it running for a extended period, so it is best to blend in segments of 30 seconds at a time to avoid burning out your blender and in order to get your smoothest texture.

BREAKFAST MEAL- Chickpea Sandwich
Chickpea Sandwich

You'll need:

3/4 cup Garbonzo beans (chickpeas)

1 inch sliced piece of celery stick

1 riri pepper

1/4 onion

1 tsp yellow mustard
1/4 tsp salt http://amzn.to/2GPn0vF

2 slices whole wheat bread

1 leaf lettuce

4 slices of a small tomato

4 thin slices cucumber

Instructions:
  1. I used an entire pack of chickpeas, but only used about a 3/4 cup of it. Ensure you rinse your peas before cooking.
  2. Add peas with about the same amount of water as the peas to a pressure cooker and pressure for 1/2 hour until soft. If after cooking it isn't soft enough to crush into a paste, pressure for an additional 15 minutes.
  3. Take about 1 cup of chick peas from the cooked set. Ensure you drain excess water and add drained peas to a separate bowl.
  4. With a fork, mash chickpeas until it becomes paste like.
  5. Grate the riri pepper, celery and onion and add to mashed chick peas with the yellow mustard and mix well.
  6. Toast bread slices and then spread chickpeas mixture evenly on both bread slices.
  7. Add lettuce, tomato and cucumber to one side of slice bread that has been toasted and had the chickpeas mixture added to it and then cover with the other slice bread that has been toasted and had the chickpeas mixture added to it.
  8. Slice in half to serve and eat.

 DINNER-Chinese Stir Fry Vermicelli
 Chinese Stir Fry Vermicelli

You'll need:

6 heads green onion
1 stick celery
1 onion
3 garlic
3 riri pepper
1 pack whole grain rice vermicelli
1/2 cup olive oil http://amzn.to/2GOAaZz
1 pack sliced baby bella mushrooms
2 tbsp sugar
salt to taste http://amzn.to/2GPn0vF
2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 carrot
2 & 1/2 cups snow peas
1 cup chopped cabbage
1/4 red bell pepper
1/4 yellow bell pepper
1/4 green bell pepper
1/2 cup warm water
2 tsp Grace browning sauce https://goo.gl/cv3tbg

Instructions:
  1. Place 1 pack vermicelli to 4 cups boiling water and boil for no more that 3-5 minutes.
  2. Strain vermicelli, rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process and then add a little oil to avoid sticking. Ensure that after you have added the oil, you distribute the oil throughout the vermicelli.
  3. Now for the mushrooms. Open pack with mushrooms and rinse then drain water if needed.
  4. Add 3 cloves grated garlic, 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar and salt to taste. Distribute contents evenly.
  5. Heat a skillet on high heat and grizzle a light amount of oil in pan.
  6. Add seasoned mushroom and allow to brown on both sides.
  7. After mushroom has been browned on both sides, add 3 tablespoons of oil to mushrooms and add celery, onion, only 3 heads of green onion (save the other three heads for later) and riri pepper and stir fry for 3 minutes or until the seasonings have been cooked to your satisfaction.
  8. Add snow peas, carrot, cabbage and bell pepper to stir fry and toss for 2 minutes.
  9. Add vermicelli, sugar and salt. Mix all contents together.
  10. In half cup warm water add salt to taste, Grace browning sauce and sugar. Ensure items have been dissolved and pour over vermicelli.
  11. Take the last set of green onions and garnish for added flavour.
  12. Serve hot.
Tips:
If you boil vermicelli for too long, it becomes soggy. So the least amount of minutes that you can boil it for is recommended. I realized that mixing the vermicelli too many times makes it break easily, so try and stir at least times as possible.
