Don't Let This Happen to You! Penny Wise & Pound Foolish Habits. When you're a girl who spends too much money!

It is amazing to know that all these years my clothes have been getting messed up each time I had my period, when I wore a brand of pads or sanitary napkins called Curves. This simple fact of what was happening didn't dawn on me until I ran out of the Curve band one day and asked my girlfriend for two or so. She got two different types from a friend who she was with at that moment and then brought them to me.

Upon using the preferred one I realized something extremely different that day. I didn't mess my clothes up or did I have to change it as quickly as the regular brand that I had been using. Immediately I called my friend and asked her the brand pad her friend had given me and it was the brand Stayfree. It came to my memory all so sudden of the fact that I had actually started out in my early life with Stayfree, but had stopped using it when the Curve brand was launched in order to save. Save. Hm. Oh, WASN'T I saving! I was loosing because I would use at least 2 packs of the Curve brand for each menstrual cycle and before when I used Stayfree, I would only use one pack. Oh, was I LOOSING!

This is the perfect example of what it means to be Penny Wise and Pound Foolish. Don't let it happen to you!

Twist Out on Natural Hair for Less or no Hair Knotting & Breakage without Missing Twists

The last Twist Out I had before this one caused my hair to knot and tear when wash day came and I knew it was mainly because I had done my hair in very tiny sections and I let those twists out randomly. The method I used to let them out caused me to miss a few here and there and then when wash day came, I thought I had gotten everything, but I didn't.

So here is what you could do to avoid missing twists for less or no hair knotting or breakage.

1. Get something to hold your hair up in a pony tail. Use a pony tail preferably.

2.  Now, row by row from the back going all the way to the top, you can begin to let your twists out.

3. Now we are all done. We have tackled every twist for a better wash day when it comes.

Now that you say it like that, I am beginning to understand men a bit more!

A few nights ago I was hanging with a friend. A male friend. He is very honest and straight forward  with me on most things. Many times he has come to my home when I wasn't looking my best or in the freshest state. He would always say that I should make an effort to look and smell nice. I always made excuses about how tired I was after work or just plain busy to make that effort.

Recently, I decided to start taking heed to the things that friend has been recommending and I noticed that when I look my best and smell like it too, his spirit is lifted. He communicates more cheerfully and he is just in bliss, unaware to himself.
One day I said to him, "I notice that when I look my best and smell it too, it makes you happy. Very cheerful rather." He said of course it would. How else do you expect me to respond? Then he used himself as an example. He said what if I came around you looking a hot mess and not smelling my best, would you be overly excited about that? Or what if I chose not to go to the barber? How would you feel about my appearance? The moment he said those things it made so much more sense and the truth is that I never really and truly looked at it that way...

I decided to put what he said in theory, to a test. My girlfriend sometimes is so busy she doesn't have enough time to go to the hairdresser and her boyfriend would tell her that there are other busy women out there too who are just as busy, but find the time to get their hair done. My girlfriend thought that her man was being unreasonable, so I decided to call her long after we had the discussion at impromptu. When she answered the phone I asked, "How would you feel if your man decided not go to the barber for 2 months?" These were her words exactly, "Then he would look like shit. I'm sorry, that's the truth." I smiled and replied and said, "Then that is the exactly the way he feels when you don't get your hair done for 2 months."

She admitted, that when it is put like that, then it is true. Life is full of so many perspectives. Sometimes we must try our best in understanding how others feel or see things differently from us or in relation in order for us to get along with them.

I will say that I am one step closer in understanding my male companions at large.

A fun night in Kingston, Jamaica! Who knew that this was the best Island Grill? Watch until the end

My very good friends and I went out to celebrate Jason's birthday. Usually we would go to different places to eat. This year we decided to go to either Usain Bolt's Tracks and Records or some other place like that to eat.

The plan was for us to let Mandeville which is in the centre of the island of Jamaica at 7:30pm and head for Kingston, Jamaica's capital which is about 1 to 2 hours away. Unfornately, we left Mandeville a little after 10pm instead and got to Kingston after 11pm.

We thought because it was not only Kingston, but also a holiday night as it was going to be Heroes Day the following day we could have easily found a place to eat even at that hour, but to our surprise the only place that was available wasn't a suitable environment for me, as I am Seventh-day Adventist Christian.

Th truth is that I would have eaten anywhere as we were hungry and eating in a club wouldn't mean that I promiscuously went there. I always use those opportunities to witness to someone. So I wasn't stressing it.

In the end, we drove around Kingston for 2 or more hours and ended up eating at Island Grill. Can you imagine. lol. All dressed up to at at Island Grill and as much as we didn't want to eat there because the Island Grill in Mandeville isn't very tasty to us, we took a chance and ate and surprisingly it was well received.

If you know of spots in Kingston for fine dinning or a nice dinner feel free in commenting down below and letting me know.

PS. We were too hungry to do any major photo taking.

How to Fix a Bra Wire

Well, well, well. We all know that bra wires can be a bit or more of very annoying when it pops out and won't stop poking you. Below I have a detailed description on how to fix this issue.

Items used in this DIY:
. Scissors http://amzn.to/2e3sEiC
. Black thread http://amzn.to/2e5qaCP
. Needle http://amzn.to/2e3uIah

1. You need to thread your needle with a colour thread that matches your bra. In my case I used black as I didn't have the shade of blue to match the bra.

Threading a needle

2. Now we want to ensure we push the bra wire in completely back in place.

Fix bra wire

3. It would be better to find a piece of material that matches the colour of the section we want to correct. Cut the desired amount. I suggest you cut a rectangular piece to fit neatly.

 Cutting cloth

4. The first thing you would want to do is take the piece of rectangular material that you cut and fold the top under for a neat finish. Place the needle from the bottom and bring it through towards the top. Pull through and make a loop and then bring the needle through the loop and pull through to tighten and secure. Repeat these actions until you have completed the entire patch.

 How to fix bra wire

5. This is basically what the finished product will look like.

 Stitching

6. Here is how it looked before and then after.

How to find your Recycle Bin in Windows 10

Recently I wanted to restore some items from my recycle bin, but couldn't find my recycle bin on my Desktop or even from my Windows folder, so I did a search from the Windows Search menu and made the steps below.

1. Now I even learned that when searching for items by typing in key words is as simple as clicking the Windows button so that the Start Menu will show and just typing. So go right ahead and do that by typing 'recycle'.

How to search the start menu

2. Click the section that is highlighted in blue. It says, "Show or hide common icons on the desktop," and the dialog box below will appear. You will see several options such as Computer, User Files, etc. Check the box that says 'Recycle Bin'.

Desktop icon settings

3. Now click 'OK' and you will see in the image below that the Recycle Bin icon has appeared.

Pin Up Natural Hairstyle without Using Hair Bands

Products used in this tutorial:
. Spray Bottle http://amzn.to/2e7ycGs
. Olive Oil http://amzn.to/2dJVtmh
. Hair Pins http://amzn.to/2dOGV1p
. Soft Close Knit Bristle Brush http://amzn.to/2duuCVU

I braided my hair a few months ago and after taking down the braids my hair edges became very thin. For about 2 months I attempted mostly twist outs, wash and go's and pinups without laying my edges flat with styling gel. As a result this is one of the styles I came up with.

1. I started out with an old Wash and Go (Click Here for Wash n Go Tutorial) and sprayed lightly some water to moisten my hair.

 Spraying water in hair

2. After applying water I placed olive oil in my hands and rubbed it evenly throughout my hair strands.

Putting olive oil in hair

3. Now it is time for styling. I start from the back whilst stroking my hair up for pinning. I take pins and stick them into the big chucks or sections that I gather in an upward position.

About to place hair in pin up

 4. I repeat step #3 until I have a complete pin up without using a hair band.

 Hairstyle almost complete

 5. Ensure you brush your edges if needed.

How to Change Margin Width on Blogger

Margin widths on websites can vary upon the publishers design and need for design, specially when it comes to space. In my case I like when my key images span a certain width and as a result I was having the issue as shown below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8T7o2xAYNH4

Now in order for us to fix this issue you would need to:

1. Log into your blogger or gmail account which would log you into your blogger account by default.

2. On the top right hand corner select 'Design'.

3.  Now, from your control panel, click 'Customize'.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8T7o2xAYNH4

4. To the top left hand corner click 'Adjust Widths'.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8T7o2xAYNH4

5. Now you can adjust your width with the adjustable bar under the 'Entire Blog' section. I choose to place mine at 1080. You can do the same or choose an amount that suits your margin requirement.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8T7o2xAYNH4

Now you can see the difference for yourself below:

It makes me cry. A bitter truth of life... FAMILY vs OFFICE

I banged into a stranger as he passed by,
'Oh excuse me please' was my response.'

He said, 'Please excuse me too;
I couldn't see you coming.'

We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We said goodbye and went on our way.

But at home a different story unfolds,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

https://thevloggingtruth.blogspot.com/

Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.

When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
'Move out of the way,' I said with a frown., a little harshly.
He walked away, his little heart broken.

I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.
While I lay resting in bed,
God's small voice came to me and said,
'While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,

but the family you love, you seem to abuse.
Go and look on the kitchen floor, You'll find some flowers there by the door.

Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.
He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise, you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes.'

By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.

I quietly went and knelt by his bed; Wake up, little one, wake up,' I said.
Are these the flowers you picked for me?'
He smiled, 'I found them, out by the tree.. I picked them because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like them, especially the blue.'
I said, 'Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way.'
He said, 'Oh, Mom, that's okay.
I love you anyway.'
I said, 'Son, I love you too, and I do like the flowers, especially the blue.'

FAMILY
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days.
But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.
And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than into our own family, an unwise investment indeed, don't you think?
So what is the lesson behind the story?

Do you know what the word FAMILY means?
FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU
Pass this message to your friends with whom you want to share..🙏
